Shakey Graves

Homegrown. Handpicked. SXSW 2014.

Austin’s own Alejandro Rose-Garcia, better known as Shakey Graves, plays a gnarly composite of blues and folk as a one-man-band of epic sonic proportions. He captures rooms with the heartfelt sounds emitting from his hollow body guitar, mildly distorted amp and suitcase drum rig. Gritty groans and soulful melodies laden with old-timey Western imagery carry his stories of accepting and overcoming.

His first full-length album, Roll the Bones (2011), landed him a spot as the official busker of the Railroad Revival Tour with Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Mumford & Sons and Old Crow Medicine Show. He’s stayed pretty busy ever since.
